This car is offered for spares or repair, as it is currently
a non-runner because of an oil pressure failure due to a blocked oil strainer
issue (as diagnosed by a Mazda garage). This is caused by carbon leaking past fuel injector(s) that then gets into
the sump. It is apparently reasonably common in older Mazda diesels.

The issue arose late 2023, when I was driving on the M27… essentially
the power dropped, the engine oil pressure light came on and the engine tripped
into limp mode. I took it to a Mazda garage for diagnosis (see above), but after that I have not used it. The car starts, ticks over perfectly well, but the warning lights on are on (see photo) and it has no drive. 

I am reliably informed that if you know what you are doing
(I don’t!!), the car is eminently repairable and will not cost a huge amount in
parts, more in time… hence the sale for spares or repair.

As for the car itself I bought the car from new in 2014 and
have had pretty much trouble-free motoring up until now. Although the car has
done 128,282 miles, much of that has been on motorways. It has a full-service
history, with all but one being carried out by a Mazda garage. It has always
been serviced on time (exc. Covid) so comes with a full Mazda service history
and a current MOT that expires on 30th September 2024 (with 3 minor…
