This is a very comfortable and flexible vehicle with many luxury features, and is generally in very good condition for its age. It can carry up to 8 people, or the seats can be re-configured to give a massive luggage space. The petrol/electric hybrid powertrain is designed to provide excellent fuel consumption for the size and weight of the vehicle, and the “e-four” electric 4WD system is good on snow and ice. It has been regularly serviced by reputable garages. It has had only one owner since being imported from Japan in 2019. The vehicle was running well with no known faults until the end of September, when it suffered a sudden failure of the hybrid inverter. The fault code is P3125, with subcodes 484, 495, 496 and 497, indicating IGBT failure. It will need repair or replacement of the inverter before it can run. (At least one second-hand inverter is currently listed on eBay.) The cause of the fault is unknown, but overheating is possible. The Alphard hybrid has 2 cooling systems – one for the engine and one for the inverter, so the inverter cooling pump may need replacement (also available on eBay).  The 12V battery is near end-of-life, but the main high-voltage traction battery is OK. I wish I could fix it myself, but I have no workshop facilities, and cannot afford a garage repair.Since it is not running, the buyer will need to collect using a recovery vehicle.
